Water quality sensor

Residual chlorine

Residual chlorine

The residual chlorine sensor uses an ion-selective membrane, which is convenient and fast, does not use chemical reagents and is environmentally friendly.

Overview

During the operation of the residual chlorine sensor, the residual chlorine (hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ions) in the measured solution diffuses to the cathode through the diaphragm, and the polarization voltage applied to the cathode reduces the residual chlorine (CL) to chloride ions (CL). -1), and then generates a current between the cathode and anode electrodes that can be detected by the analytical instrument.

This current is proportional to the rate of diffusion of residual chlorine to the cathode, that is, it is ultimately proportional to the concentration of residual chlorine in the solution being measured.

Application

Surface water monitoring, lakes, aquaculture, medicine, rural sewage monitoring, industrial sewage discharge, swimming pool, etc.
